SAHPA issues pro-rata credit of Aero Club fees

In August 2021 we sent out a communication to you with regards to your licence renewals changing from an annual to a biennial (every two years) licence. As per usual, SAHPA added the Aero Club fees for 2021-2022, pending the finalisation of a suitable arrangement with the Aero Club.

However, the SAHPA committee has now come to a different arrangement with the Aero Club. As from January 2022, SAHPA will no longer be collecting Aero Club fees. This means that you will need to pay the Aero Club membership fee and FAI competition sporting licence fee directly to the Aero Club.

If you renewed your licence in 2021, a portion of your fees were earmarked for your Aero Club fees for 2022. However, as SAHPA will no longer be paying your Aero Club fees, we will now issue a pro-rata credit to your SAHPA account, which will be automatically redeemed at your next SAHPA membership renewal.

SAHPA will adjust the fees to credit all eligible members with the amount owing up to 30 June 2022.

(All members renewing from 31 July 2021 were automatically held over to the following year and the Aero Club fee was paid over to the Aero Club in January 2022.)

In other words: 

  • Pilot licences expiring in January 2022 will not be credited.
  • Pilot licences expiring on or before 28 February 2022 will be credited with R 40.00. (SAHPA Fees R1960.00 less R 40.00= R 1920 payable for February month renewals)
  • Pilot licences expiring on or before 31 March 2022 will be credited with R 80.00. (SAHPA Fees R1960.00 less R 80.00= R 1880 payable for February month renewals)
  • Pilot licences expiring on or before 31 March will be credited with R 120.00. (SAHPA Fees R1960.00 less R 80.00= R 1840 payable for February month renewals)
  • Pilot licences expiring on or before 30 April  will be credited with R 160.00. (SAHPA Fees R1960.00 less R 160.00= R 1800 payable for February month renewals)
  • Pilot licences expiring on or before 31 May  will be credited with R 200.00. (SAHPA Fees R1960.00 less R 200.00= R 1760 payable for February month renewals)
  • Pilot licences expiring on or before 30 June will be credited with R 240.00. (SAHPA Fees R1960.00 less R 80.00= R 1720 payable for February month renewals)

The renewal reminder pack will be adjusted accordingly.
