The 2026 Barberton Paragliding Open was the longest-running paragliding competition in Africa — carrying FAI/CIVL Category 2 international status, counting toward the SA Cup and national league standings, and awarding WPRS points to international participants. It was also the South African National Paragliding Championship, with titles awarded across six classes. 84 pilots registered. 80 flew. Five tasks were completed across six days, totaling 175.6km of cross-country racing.
